Didcot 0-2 Banbury
Didcot's poor run of results against the Puritans continues after a 2-0 reverse yesterday in the Oxfordshire derby clash at the Loop Meadow.
In all honesty there wasn't much to choose between the two sides; neither managed to create too many opportunities and Didcot enjoyed the lion's share of possession. But in the critical areas Banbury were more ruthless - Nabil Shariff firing his side ahead almost with their first chance on 27 minutes and Jason Taylor finishing things off from the penalty spot in the dying stages.
Aside from that Joe Murrell pulled off a couple of good saves to deny Elliot Osborne-Ricketts and Michael Bartley but otherwise the Puritans defended resolutely and did enough to earn the points.
So a disappointing day and a result that sees us slip down three places to 14th in the Premier Division.
With our home form continuing to puzzle and frustrate, it may be a blessing to be drawn away at Cirencester Town next Saturday in the FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round. There is a supporters coach for that one which leaves at 12.00pm (departure time to be confirmed).

We are delighted to announce a specialist website to cater for our blossoming Youth teams at Didcot Town FC.
The new-look website is accessible via the Youths button on the main menu bar above (you'll find it second from the right, next to the Forum button). You can create your own username and password unique to the Youth section to post on the Youth's only forum.
All of our Youth Teams games start on the weekend of the 11/12th Sept and the new website will
include match reports, photos and league tables as the season progresses.
We are very proud of how the Youth section of the football club has developed over the past two years and we hope that the improved website coverage will increase the interest of our
regular First Team and Reserve supporters into how the youngsters are developing.
We see the future of the club itself in the youngsters of today so that we see many more of the likes of current First Team skipper Jamie Heapy and Vase winner/Reserves wing-back Glyn Jones coming through the youth team ranks.
I'm sure you'll agree the new website looks terrific. Many thanks to Colin Haynes for setting this up and all the very best of luck to all our Youth Teams for the forthcoming campaign. We look forward to reading about how you get-on.
