Ardley 3-3 Didcot

Didcot had to settle for a draw in an excellent pre-season warm-up last night at Ardley.

Elliott Osbourne-Ricketts, Michael Alexis and Alex Stanley gave Diddy a 3-1 lead but Troy Bryan scored two late goals to make it honours even.

Next-up is Bicester Town away on Tuesday 3 Aug. KO 7.45pm.

Milton 0-7 Didcot

On the evening that Didcot eased to an impressive 7 goal win at near-neighbours Milton United, manager Stuart Peace has agreed terms with defender Andy Gunn. Alongside the signing of James Mortimer-Jones, Michael Bartley and Elliott Osbourne-Ricketts in the last few days the squad is now taking shape for the forthcoming campaign.

As for the game, an own goal and a good strike from Jamie Heapy gave Didcot a 2 goal first half lead. The second half saw a number of changes and a further 5 goals from Josh Huggins, Bartley, Michael Hopkins (his first senior goal), Osbourne-Ricketts and Josh Dutton-Black.

And after the poor show at Thatcham Stuart was a much happier man when he spoke after the game: "While the results in pre-season aren't necessarily important, the performances are and the Thatcham game was, on the whole, very disappointing. By contrast in the second half tonight in particular our passing and movement was excellent so alongside some decent finishing and a clean sheet this was more like what I expect at this stage of our preparations." On the signing of Gunn: "Andy has played for me before and he's a terrific talent so I'm delighted to have got him here."

Next-up then is the trip to Ardley on Friday. KO 7.30pm.

Friday's pre-season friendly at Witney Utd has been postponed. We will now travel to Hellenic Prem Division Ardley Utd on Friday 30th July KO 7.30pm

The kick-off at Milton Utd on Tuesday 27 July is 7.30pm not as previously advertised.

There is also a significant change to our League fixtures - we now play host to Stourbridge at the Loop Meadow on Tuesday 17 August 7.45pm because their ground is not available that evening.

The Reserves have made a winning start to the summer beating Letcombe 2-1 and Frimley Green 4-1 on Saturday.
