Meet the Management 2010-2011

Stuart Peace  Manager
stuart_peace_2005

Stuart Peace enjoyed a successful (albeit fairly modest) career in local football as a player in the Hellenic League and elsewhere but this stood him in good stead when he turned his mind to management.  Stuart joined Didcot initially as No2 to then boss Peter Foley who he had worked with as a player.  Stuart took over as First team boss at the start of 2004-2005 season and has never looked back.  All the more remarkable is that on the eve of that first season he had no players signed-on and yet he still managed runners-up spot in the Hellenic League, retained the Challenge Cup and masterminded the greatest single success in the club's history in winning the FA Vase in May 2005.  His second season in charge took the club forward once more when he oversaw a treble of wins: the Hellenic League title (and promotion to the Southern League), the Challenge Cup again and the Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy.

After two years consolidation in the South & west Division Stuart masterminded promotion into the Zamaretto Premier Division following a dramatic play-off win at AFC Totton in May 2009.

To describe Spicey (as he's affectionately known) as a club physio hardly tells the full story.  Injury curtailed a promising playing career but that failed to dampen his enthusiasm for the game and he is now one of the most respected club physios around.  On top of that he encapsulates the spirit of the club by transferring his wages as an electrician straight into the club coffers (via his throat).  Widely regarded as 'Mr Didcot Town', his knowledge of the non-league game is equal to none (literally).
